Jack Pond
Hi, I’m Jack. I’m currently an applied math undergraduate at BYU, and I’ll be applying to graduate programs in applied-math-ish domains this cycle. For the summer, I work at Cross Stream Bioanalytics analyzing mechanistic systems biology models using concepts from information geometry. I’m married to the lovely Jane Pond and we’re expecting our first child in a few months. We couldn’t be more excited! Jane and I enjoy cooking and walking together. I’m also a casual coin collector, a very serious handball player, an avid reader, and an ancient scriptures/language enthusiast.
I like to write about math, language, and religion. I like to build random projects that help me learn something about how math can answer tough questions.
What I’m working on now
- Systems biology and pharmacokinetics at Cross Stream Bioanalytics
- Learning about information geometry and Fisher Information Matrix methods
- Optimal strategy in monopoly via markov chains
- Translating the Gospel of Mark from Greek
- Preparing for a baby in September!!
